1/6 Painful but joyful – by Nancy

Time is flying, I have experienced one month 200 YTT class already. Within this period, I have learnt a lot, it is not only limited to Asana, but also Pranayama which I never know before. It is quite exciting, as well as painstaking. For instance, my Yoga fundamental skills are not strong, it is quite challenging to myself, I encountered a lot of difficulties to do some advanced Asana, such as Salamba Sirsasana (headstand), Pincha Mayurasana, Astavakrasana etc. For instance, when teacher taught us how to headstand, I totally didn’t know how to do it. I was scared to lift up my legs, I put a lot of weight on my head until I felt very painful on my crown of head at following dates. I was very frustrated when I fell down many times. But I told myself, “don’t fear the difficulties, learn from mistakes, you can do it”. I persevered to practice until now I can do headstand at curtain level, even I could not headstand for quite long period, but I have improved a lot, I enjoyed the moment when my two legs are able to be stable on the air. At the first day of teacher’s instruction, she told us “don’t compare yourself with others”, now I really feel how important it is to me. If I can focus on my mind, telling myself to be more confident, I believe I will improve a lot in the future…
