Yamas

One of the most interesting theory lesson throughout YTT in my opinion will be the teaching of the 8 Limbs of Yoga, especially the Yamas.

I still vividly recalled it was an exceptionally tough period of my own personal life when that particular theory lesson is conducted. It was from that day onwards, i felt like Yoga has a whole lot more purpose in my life than just asanas and a physical exercise. Yoga is a form of life style.

One particular Yama that resonate deeply to me is Ahimsa. Ahimsa stands for non-violence. Be it in our personal yoga practice or in our daily life. Practising compassion, spreading love to people around us. Teaching us to be always thoughtful and forgiving. To inspire and grow inwards with every thoughts we are feeling, are we supporting the growth of every world’s being? It rings so much to me that i decided to snap out of whatever violence i am putting myself and probably spreading to people around me. By not accepting love in us, we are actually being violent not only to ourselves, but also to people around us.

A very meaningful insight gained.
